Jason BochniakVice President Mortgage Lending
My name is Jason Bochniak. I was born and raised Delaware. I joined the US Navy right out of high school in October 1990. I chose the aviation side of the Navy as my field of expertise. I graduated as an Aviation Electronics Technician. I was honorably discharged in May of 1996. I returned home to Newark DE to find work as a civilian. It quickly became apparent that I was not going to be able to find work in the field of Aviation Electronics. One day in July of 1998 I was looking at the “Help Wanted” section of the paper and saw that a local mortgage company had posted a job looking for loan officers. I had friends that sold real estate. After speaking with them they felt my outgoing personality would be suited for this type of work. I interviewed and, Ironically, the gentlemen that interviewed me was in the Navy prior to entering the mortgage business. I was hired and quickly learned the business. Mistakes were made early on. Learning this business required failing forward. It took me about 5 years to really master the business. The one thing that really helped me learn the business and become a person who could educate and teach rather than sell was reading the guidelines for each of the different investors we worked with.
I’ve learned so much about the human experience in the past 20 plus years I’ve been in this business. One of my greatest accomplishments in this business is earning the intuition to know what to ask, when to ask and how to ask the right question to uncover the answers needed to provide an approvable loan package to the underwriting team. Too often prospective clients are hesitant to discuss the full scope of what they are or have experienced financially in the past. Most often the info that our clients hold back is the most important info needed to procure the loan. I pride myself on my ability to treat you with the highest respect while making you feel comfortable enough to share some of your most sensitive issues related to your past credit performance. Additionally, it is my goal to educate you about the mortgage process so much so that you will be able to make an educated decision on the product best suited for your new home purchase.
I’ve worked for a handful of Mortgage companies over my career. Each change has resulted in advancements in my career. I am currently the Vice President of Mortgage Lending for Keystone Funding, Inc. I am highly motivated and eagerly looking forward to meeting individuals who possess many of the skills that I have mentioned and are looking for a lasting career in the mortgage banking field. In addition to building my team at keystone Funding, Inc we are a mortgage company first. Whether you are purchasing your first home, buying a second home or just looking to lower your monthly payment, we will work hard to provide the best financing suited for your individual needs and circumstances.
